The main thing: Both battery and solar cell size have been reduced, while the reliability of the operation of the system (without twilight switch) and control electronics software which is developed for the problem-free operation. The maintenance fee usually higher when a manufacturer uses a bigger battery. In addition, the battery usually stored buried in the soil due to its size, which is a significant extra work in case of maintenance works or change.
